BrightCat Data releases MCP Connector for AI-native access to Canadian property data

April 2026 — BrightCat Data has released a Model Context Protocol connector that lets AI agents including Claude query Canadian residential and commercial property data in real time through natural language. The MCP Connector is available alongside BrightCat's Snowflake Marketplace listings, giving enterprise data teams and AI builders two AI-native delivery paths into the same underlying pipeline.

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard introduced by Anthropic in late 2024 for connecting AI assistants to external data sources and tools. It has since been adopted by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and a growing set of property data providers as a shared interface between AI systems and structured data.

MCP lets an AI agent query a dataset through tool calls rather than through a pre-built prompt pipeline. For property data specifically, the agent can ask structured questions — median list price, active inventory, lifecycle state — and get answers back in real time from the live BrightCat pipeline.

What the connector exposes

The BrightCat MCP Connector provides AI agents with structured access to the same property intelligence available through Snowflake Marketplace:

Two delivery paths, one pipeline

BrightCat's positioning combines Snowflake Marketplace with native MCP support. Snowflake Marketplace serves enterprise analytics workloads where the query is part of a recurring report, a scheduled job, or an embedded analytics dashboard. The MCP Connector serves interactive AI workflows where an analyst, an ops lead, or an agent is asking questions in natural language.

Both paths query the same underlying data. Both paths reflect the weekly refresh. Neither path requires the consumer to move data, build a pipeline, or handle schema drift.

"The combination we have built — Snowflake Marketplace for the analytics stack, MCP for the agent stack, both reading from twelve years of continuous Canadian pipeline history — is what we think enterprise property data delivery should look like in 2026," said Alexandria Goldthorpe, founder of BrightCat Data. "The data is where the work already lives."

Access and authentication

The BrightCat MCP Connector is delivered through the BrightCat Snowflake account with OAuth-based authentication. Claude users connect through Claude Desktop's connector settings; Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-compatible clients follow the standard MCP server registration pattern. The connector inherits the permission model of the underlying Snowflake share, which means existing BrightCat licenses extend to MCP access without additional contracting.
